Individual Counseling Services
Individual counseling sessions are held between the psychologist and the individual seeking counseling. These sessions generally last approximately for 50 minutes. The length of a session may vary based on the unique characteristics of the session.
Group Counseling Services
Group counseling sessions are offered each year depending on the needs of students. Group discussions are limited to approximately 10-12 people at a time. Sessions may also be organized according to issues related to students by requests coming from students. In case of an intensive demand, group sessions may be re-organized in the same academic term.
Some Group Counseling Topics:
- Developing Effective Communication Skills
- Effective Study Skills
- Time Management
- Coping with Stress
- Anger Management and similar issues
A group contract is signed between the students and the psychologists for the continuation and confidentiality of group sessions. Information regarding Group Counseling Sessions is announced on posters at the Psychological Counseling Guidance and Research Center bulletin boards and also on the EMU-PDRAM website.
